Bolton Pride is returning this weekend (21st – 23rd September) for a three-day festival!
Each day will be themed and day one of Bolton Pride will be a day to reflect. The weekend will be officially launched with a Hate Crime Vigil Event on Friday evening. The vigil will feature a minute’s silence for people affected by hate crime and will see the official lighting of the Town Hall in the iconic rainbow colours. Also featured on Friday, is the launch night cinema event where a film, chosen by the public, will be screened at The Light Cinema in the Market Place.
Saturday’s theme is celebration and aims to celebrate the diversity of the LGBT+ community. The day will feature the Greatest Show Bolton Pride Parade presented by Bolton at Home. Based on the musical, The Greatest Showman, the parade will be colourful, vibrant and loud, and its route will include Queen’s Park, Spa Road and end in Victoria Square.
The final day of the festival is a family fun day with a focus to educate. Bolton Wanderers Community Trust and Bolton Wanderers Football Club will be taking over Newport Street to create a sporting family hub. There will be a variety of stalls scattered across Victoria Square and The Market Place alongside a range of live entertainment throughout the day. The festival will end following the official closing party in The Cave in The Vaults.
Bolton Pride 2018 is set to be an incredible weekend with a variety of events for everyone and will be supported by ambassadors Daisy Wood-Davis and Jessica Ellis of Hollyoaks. Make sure you check out their website for more information!
